Goffy Media - Project - Clough & Taylor Book

One of the greatest football management teams of all time was undoubtedly Brian Clough and Peter Taylor. A man who knew them better than most was a scout from Burton called Maurice Edwards, one of football's unsung heroes who discovered players for them for over 21 years, starting out at their first managerial positions in Hartlepool back in 1965.

He followed them to title-winning Derby County, Brighton, Leeds, and to European glory at Nottingham Forest.

Maurice decided to write a book about his experiences of working closely with the duo, and managed to get it published. (pictured right with Goffy at Middlesbough FD)

The book called "A Right Pair" proved to be a huge success with football fans around the world.

The publishers, D B Publishing, contacted Goffy Media to set up a two-day press and media publicity tour across the North East. The tour included trips to Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool football clubs, to re-visit the various links to the Clough & Taylor partnership.

The various media, including TV & radio, gave the book fantastic reviews.

The press cutting on the right is from the Sunderland Echo, and was typical of the excellent reviews the book received as a result of this tour.

The book became a surprise hit, especially considering it was Maurice's first attempt at writing.

DB Publishing were also thrilled with the publicity that Goffy Media obtained, and the resulting sales it generated.
